2019
July 22nd – Legally filed paperwork with the State of Texas for Christians Engaged to be formed.
December 10th – Official launch of Christians Engaged (watch our first video)!
2020
April 9th - We hosted our first virtual prayer call during the pandemic, featuring elected officials praying for the nation.
April 15th – Vice President Mike Pence called Christians Engaged President, Bunni Pounds from the White House to thank her for our Letters of Hope campaign.
June 18th - Launched our weekly podcast, Conversations with Christians Engaged.
July 21st - Released the Texas-focused version of On-Ramp to Political Activism curriculum for Christians.
September 30th - We held our first virtual fundraiser with special guests, Congressman Michael Cloud, Rev. Rafael Cruz, Kevin Freeman, and Texas State Representatives Matt Krause and Matt Schaefer.
December 31st – Celebrated our first anniversary milestones, which included 27 church appearances (despite the pandemic), and thousands of individuals who took our PLEDGE to pray, vote, and engage.
2021
January 4th - Launched a weekly, virtual Bible Study (through the books of Psalms and Nehemiah) to encourage Christians in politics to pray and meditate on God’s Word.
May 18th – We received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service denying our tax-exempt status, stating in the IRS' own words, “[B]ible teachings are typically affiliated with the [Republican] party and candidates. This disqualifies you from exemption under IRC Section 501(c)(3).”
June 16th – Our appeal to the IRS was filed by First Liberty Institute, which led to national media coverage, including CE President, Bunni Pounds’ appearance on Shannon Bream on Fox News.
July 7th – We received a letter from the IRS notifying us that they’d reversed their decision and we won our appeal (full story here).
September 29th – Launched Austin 101, our on-demand video curriculum covering the Texas Legislature.
November 7-8th – We held our first national Wake UP! Conference, headlined by James Robison, Governor Rick Perry, Congressman Michael Cloud, June Hunt, Allie Beth Stuckey, Corey Russell, Kyle Martin, Rev. Rafael Cruz and more.
2022
January 1st - We launched Christians Engaged in the state of Pennsylvania, which included a church development team on the ground.
January 22nd - The national launch of Christians Engaged at the 2022 March for Life, where we appeared with, Dave & Kris Kubal (Intercessors for America), Alveda King, and four Members of Congress.
May 10th - Debuted our nationally-focused mission video.
July 1st – Released our updated On-Ramp to Civic Engagement online curriculum, designed for a national audience.
September 23rd-24th – We held our second National Wake UP! Conference, headlined by Eric Metaxas, Dr. Robert Jeffress, Elizabeth Johnston, Will Ford, Matt Lockett, Dave Kubal, Doug Stringer and more.
October 12th – Officially announced our updated PLEDGE and GOTV communication system for all 50 states.
December 8th – Released our second nationally-focused curriculum, Salt & Light: How to Impact Our Local Communities.
2023
January 2nd - Merged our Conversations with Christians Engaged weekly show with our weekly Bible Study, and partnered with The Stream and the Edifi app for national distribution.
April 3rd - Released Nehemiah: How to Rebuild the Walls of a Nation, a 16-part video course taught by Bunni Pounds on the leadership of principles found in the book of Nehemiah.
June 29th - Released Biblical Justice: Answers for Difficult Days, an 8-part video curriculum on justice from a biblical perspective, featuring well-known ministry leaders speaking on the topic.
June 30th - We officially hit 100,000 Christians who receive our weekly communications focusing on prayer, voting, and engagement. Our mid-year report shares our victories.
July 15-19th - We took our first ministry trip to Washington, DC, where we led 50 Christians across our nation’s capital while educating them prayer, voting, and engagement. Participants heard from nine U.S. House Members and 2 Senators, and prayed with them.
August 8th - Bunni Pounds announces 33 endorsements for her book published by Frontline Books/Charisma House and pre-order availability - Jesus and Politics: One Woman's Walk with God in a Mudslinging Profession. This story covers Bunni’s 16 years in politics walking with God, and the genesis of Christians Engaged.
November 3rd and 4th - We held our 3rd annual National Wake UP! Conference. Featured headliners included, Hon. Michele Bachmann, Kelly Shackelford, Billy Hallowell, Congressman Michael Cloud and more.
November 15th - Released Biblical Economics: Answers for Difficult Days, an 8-part video curriculum covering economics from a biblical perspective.
December 1st - We reached 200,000 Christians in our database who receive our weekly communications and civic engagement resources.
Our team is working a plan to reach 1,000,000 Christians by the 2024 General Election, and to release 3 new curriculum packages by the fall of 2024.
