Christians Engaged Announces 50-State
Voter Registration and Activation Effort
(Garland, TX) - Christians Engaged, a civic engagement discipleship ministry founded in 2020 now serving 110 churches, today announces the first 501(c)3 GET OUT THE VOTE mechanism for Christians in all 50 states.
The TAKE THE PLEDGE system not only pushes Christians to register to vote but encourages them to vote in every election, including current and future local, primary and general elections. Christian churches and ministries across America can now partner with Christians Engaged to utilize their system by co-branding with them on their websites, emails, printed materials, and social media accounts to activate the Body of Christ.
Christians Engaged President Bunni Pounds said, “We believe the Church is the answer for America. Unfortunately, there is not much difference between Christians’ voting patterns and those of the general public. If the Body of Christ across denominational lines would fight apathy, take Jesus to the ballot box, and vote biblical values in every election including local elections and primaries, we would see a generational impact on America.”
Once people take the PLEDGE to pray, vote, and engage, they will receive an appeal to register to vote immediately. Within a few days participants will receive a unique activation product, the Christians Engaged On-Ramp to Civic Engagement course– a seven hour on-demand training class which equips American Christians to be activated with government from a Kingdom perspective.
Going forward, these Christians are activated with a full “Get Out the Vote” program for their applicable state. Leading up to each election, those enrolled will receive four texts and four email reminders to vote and are equipped with research materials from a non-partisan Christian perspective.
This system is unique in that it is built within a fully secure church software system that can accommodate future growth to millions of people. In a time when data companies are cancelling Christian ministry organizations, this is extremely important for the future of the Church.
Since its launch, Christians Engaged has gathered leaders to provide wisdom and counsel in their important mission. Christians Engaged was founded by Bunni Pounds, a Bible teacher and political consultant with experience running campaigns at the federal, state, and local level. Recent Legal Victory over IRS:
On May 18, 2021, after 18 months of operation, Christians Engaged was denied their 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status because the IRS noted in writing that “biblical teachings” are “typically affiliated with the Republican Party and candidates.”
Bunni Pounds and the Christians Engaged Board of Directors appealed that decision for not only their ministry, but for all Christian organizations that would have been affected. With the help of First Liberty Institute, an outcry from members of Congress to the IRS Commissioner, and significant national media attention on the case, the organization won a reversal in just 21 days.
