I Saw the Lord (Part 3)

Isaiah 6 is so rich because we see the power of SEEING the Lord, high and lifted up. Isaiah saw the Lord and was changed.
As we discussed in part 1 and part 2 of this series, we won’t hear from God, we won’t be sent in His power, and we won’t have anything of value to say IF we don’t SEE Him - His holiness, His worth, and His glory.
But once we are in that place of abiding by His grace, we can HEAR Him and hear Him clearly.
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?”
I love the fact that right there before the throne of God after seeing Jesus for who He really is that the first thing that Isaiah HEARS is the cry of the Lord of the Harvest for laborers.
When we draw near to the Lord, this happens...we begin seeing the Lord’s heart for the world. We hear His heart cry for people to be raised up who will walk in their gifts and callings and be the hands and feet of Jesus on this earth.
This is the place, that we, as believers, oftentimes grow frustrated; we witness so much need that we do not know where to begin.
So it makes me laugh that Jesus always points us back to prayer - back to relationship with Him. He doesn’t ask us to solve the huge problem of few laborers. He just asks us to seek Him in prayer.
Matthew 9:37-38
“Then He (Jesus) said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. THEREFORE, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
So here we are, seeing Him, hearing from Him that there are few laborers, having to ask Him to solve that problem, and then it happens… we submit ourselves - our undone lives to be used as one of those laborers.
That is what Isaiah said - “Here am I! Send me.”
I laugh at this because God had Isaiah right where He wanted him - seeing Him as He truly is, hearing His voice, seeing what He sees and feeling what He feels and then turning himself into the answer to his own agreement with God’s heart.
Isaiah became the answer to his own prayer for laborers.
So often this is where our journey leads us - we volunteer ourselves because we now have God’s heart for the world coursing through our veins. We can’t stop ourselves. We have to say YES to Him because we are ruined by His glory and we never want to go back to just mundane living.
I laugh because God did it - His prayers and our prayers of agreement are always answered. He will commission His laborers.
Then God SENDS Isaiah, and in the same way He sends us.
“And He said, “Go, and tell this people.” He now has the power to TELL the people the Word of the Lord, but God sends him to people who "won’t hear, who won’t understand, and do not perceive."
Read Isaiah 6:9-13.
This is a difficult group of people that God sends Isaiah to, and he gets so frustrated that Isaiah says, “Lord, how long?”
I often hear young people who are just wanting to take off and be used by God somehow, but again this is why this message of the hour of walking in intimacy with Jesus is so important.
We need to see Jesus, spend time with Him, and know He loves us, because once we are sent, it is HARD.
If you think the waiting is difficult - try the “sending” and the “telling.” It is not pretty. It is challenging work, and sometimes the responses or the results are not what we want.
In those wastelands and desolate places where God sends us, we have to have His presence sustaining us. We need to realize that Jesus is really the true destiny for our lives, and however He uses us is a by-product of that relationship.
This is where the forerunners and pioneers are birthed - in the wilderness and in the desert places and in the place of intimacy with God.
“But yet a tenth (a remnant) will be in it, and will return and be for consuming, as a terebinth tree or as an oak, Whose stump remains when it is cut down. So the HOLY SEED shall be its stump.”
This was a prophecy to Isaiah of the first coming of Jesus. It is a picture of the Holy Seed that had to die (be cut down) before His resurrection and His glorification, but I also believe it is a prophecy for the days we are living in before the second coming as well.
We are in a time where the Body of Christ looks like a stump. We are weak, small, and tired, but this remnant of those who seek God will demonstrate the powerful SEED growing inside of us.
The forerunners in the spirit of John the Baptist that are preparing the way of the Lord are going to “make His paths straight” and we will be the ones who will be the VOICE of our generation speaking the truth of the Kingdom of God.
Right now, we are hidden, we are seeing Him in the secret place, but mark my words, the nameless, faceless generation of God seekers will come forward in our DAY with a message of liberty to the captives and our TELLING will be the power of salvation for thousands.
We will SEE Him, we will HEAR from Him, we will be SENT and we will TELL of His goodness.
The SEERS of Jesus will change the world and will occupy until He comes.
I want to be in that company.
