The Best is Yet to Come (2020 Continued...)

By Samuel Bistrian

If you think the first half of 2020 was crazy, chaotic and confusing — Brace yourselves.

As someone who likes to see the cup half full rather than half empty, I will tell you this:

The best is yet to come for the children of light, and the darker it gets the brighter we will shine — And it’s going to get dark.

The more we can pursue God wholeheartedly in prayer, fasting, reading His word, serving and loving others, the better off we will be to withstand the shaking that is coming.

We are promised joy in the middle of the storm. We are promised peace that is beyond comprehension. We are promised protection and provision if we abide in His presence.

Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call on Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55) Put all of your trust in Him and He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31) When the enemy rushes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise a standard against him. (Isaiah 59) And no weapon formed against you will prosper. (Isaiah 54)

If you’ve feared putting yourself out there, this is not the time to shrink back. This is a time to speak the truth, stand for righteousness, admonish, alert and awaken all who are willing to listen. It’s a time like never before in the history of the world and you were precisely created for this moment in time.

Don’t miss your opportunity to shine.

You will receive push back and opposition, especially from those who also claim to be Christian, but don’t worry. Jesus received pushback mainly from the religious people of His day.

When you do, maintain your peace, try to reason, but if you can’t, ignore and move on. Spend your precious time on people who actually want to learn, not on those who vehemently oppose you to feel a sense of self-importance.

An encouraging verse for me comes from Proverbs 26. This requires discernment. “Don’t answer a fool according to his folly or you’ll be like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, or he’ll be wise in his own eyes.”

In the end, you are not doing it to please man, but God. Love should always be your motivation and while it’s hard sometimes to be loving and you will make mistakes, God looks at the intent of the heart. Do your best and let God redeem the rest.

One thing you want to steer clear from is fear. The fear of man is a trap, but the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

Take heart.

Fear nothing.

Have faith.

The best is yet to come!
