The Essence of Prayer
Inquiring of someone most often means that you need information or you are searching for answers. In reading the many accounts when King David inquired of the Lord, you get a real sense that David had ready, ongoing conversations with God. In the prophet Samuel’s case, God reached out to him as a means to speak to the Hebrew nation. Prayer is and should be, a means of two-way communication more than an avenue to make requests. The point here is that abiding and listening are often the most productive times in our conversations with God.
Let Us Live By The Same Spirit
We often regard the apostolic saints as if they are in a special class of “sainthood,” more so than the other children of God. But dear believer, please know that all whom God has called by His grace and sanctified by His Spirit are “saints.” Even so, we are apt to look upon the apostles as extraordinary beings, scarcely subject to the same weaknesses and temptations as ourselves.
Spirit-Led Prayer and Prophetic Prayer
When praying for someone in person, we pray most effectively when we have heard from God through spending time with Him. In that place of intimacy, we receive an overflow of God’s anointing and compassion.
