God Affirms You As His Own
The graces of the Christian character must not resemble the rainbow in its transitory beauty, but, on the contrary, must be established, settled, abiding. Seek, O believer, that every good thing you have may be an abiding thing. May your character not be a written upon sand, but an inscription upon the rock! May your faith be no “baseless fabric of a vision,” but may it be built of material able to endure that awful fire which shall consume the wood, hay, and stubble of the hypocrite.

We just finished the backyard. In a short time, we’ll need to attend to the front. It’s a perennial tag-team. That’s because the two oaks in the back are not the same kind as the three oaks in the front. They shed their leaves at different times.
Still, I love the trees. I’ve always loved trees. Ours have grown in the time we’ve lived in the same house for over twenty years. They’ve been silent witnesses to the changes in our lives during the time we’ve been in Texas.
