Your CHRISTIAN Guide to VOTE in the 2022 Pennsylvania Primary
FIRST: We want to make sure you don’t forget to vote! Mark the date on your calendar NOW but also let us help you to not ever forget an election again.
If you haven’t taken our PLEDGE to PRAY, VOTE & ENGAGE, you can do so HERE - We will send you text messages and an email when Election Day is here. You can also sign up for our weekly prayer texts if you desire them.
STEP 1: CHOOSE THE POLITICAL PARTY THAT MORE CLOSELY ALIGNS WITH YOUR BIBLICAL VALUES
Research the platforms of those parties - simply read them. The platforms are what the parties believe, what they stand for, and their values that have been written by the delegates of that party and what they ask their leaders to uphold.
Only Republican and Democrat Primaries are held by voting - the others are held by convention.
In Pennsylvania:
Republican Party Platform (they follow the national party platform but also have a statement on what they believe as a state party)
Democratic Party Platform (they follow the national party platform but also pass state resolutions)
PA Libertarian Party Platform
PA Green Party Platform
STEP 2: PULL YOUR SAMPLE BALLOT FROM YOUR COUNTY ELECTIONS DEPARTMENT - THE BALLOT WILL BE BASED UPON YOUR POLITICAL PARTY OF CHOICE
You can find your sample ballot by entering your address HERE, but it may be incomplete. The most comprehensive list will be on your county elections website.
Examples here:
STEP 3: SPEND SOME TIME RESEARCHING THE CANDIDATES IN EACH RACE ON YOUR BALLOT & MAKE YOUR CHOICE
Look at the candidate websites and their social media feeds to see where they stand on the issues
Look at who supports them: organizations, groups, key endorsements, etc.
If you spend 5-10 minutes looking at each race, you will be more prepared than most people in the state.
STEP 4: LOOK TO OUTSIDE SOURCES FOR INFORMATION ON CANDIDATES' VOTING RECORDS & FUNDRAISING INFORMATION
Check out IVOTER guide for non-partisan information for Christians. Their guide is expected to release on May 6th.
For financial information on candidates’ money - see TRANSPARENCY USA - PA PAGE.
STEP 5: PRAY & ASK GOD FOR WISDOM TO PICK THE BEST CANDIDATE IN EACH RACE
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5
