CHRISTIANS ENGAGED BLOG
Battlefield of the Mind
“If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32 NKJV) Imprisonment often means incarceration, but being confined to a jail cell is only one definition of imprisonment.
The Power of Loving Obedience
“If you love Me, obey My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads
into all truth. John 14:15-17 NLT
No words could express more simply or more powerfully the inconceivably glorious place
Christ gives to obedience.
God’s Relentless Love Pursues the Lost and Hurting
We are all wounded, and every wound represents the potential to hurt other people. We sometimes do crazy things to try to cope with our wounded hearts. When a person lashes out at you, God wants you to see that person through His eyes, and to realize there is a hurting heart buried in the rubble of pain. Only God can heal a broken heart, no matter the source of the offense, whether self-inflicted or brought about by another person. It does not matter your station in life, whether you are at the pinnacle or the bottom of the heap, God offers His relentless love to heal your aching and wounded heart.
The State of Evangelism in Modern America, Part Part 2 of 2
This is the second of two articles with two evangelists insights, and I challenge you to read their words and pray about how God might have you respond to Him.
Biblical Conduct - Part 12 Impossible Rules
How are we supposed to conduct ourselves, as believers? Should we follow tradition? Should we follow rules for character and etiquette?
God and Country
He was short, a little over five feet tall. He was slight, barely 100 pounds. You wouldn’t pick him out in a crowd without effort. He’d likely be in the back of the room, dressed neatly in a black suit.
Reinforcing his unobtrusive appearance was a shy, serious, and quiet temperament. He spoke barely above a whisper. He was deliberative, circumspect, and judicious, careful in what he thought and said, and how he said it.
If you listened intently, he’d be worth your attempt to hear him.
Personal Response: Obey! (The Bible’s Answer for Racism, Part 13)
You are about to leave to go to an important meeting or date – quick! – check the mirror! Is everything in place, everything ready, everything in tip-top-shape? How crazy would it be to look in the mirror, see that something needs to be adjusted, but then walk away and do nothing? You’re probably thinking you’d never do that, but this is the same picture the apostle James uses about people who only hear God’s Word without doing what it says…
Just Like Her
It was a trail of tears. Too bitter and heartbreaking for words.
Three women—one older, two younger—united by the deaths of their husbands, were traveling to a new home, and a new beginning.
It hadn’t been easy, nor would it be easy now.
Psalm 60 – Restore Us Again!
No one can heal us and restore us other than God. Putting our trust in men or women to change or repair their broken states will not work.
We have to completely depend on the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Restorer of our souls – Jesus.
Psalm 41 – He Upholds Us
God sustains us, cares for us, and watches over us with His love. He does not forget about us. He doesn’t stop praying for us. He upholds us.
So just like Him - the needs of the household of faith should always be a priority for us as believers.
The Invisible Enemy
There is an invisible enemy determined to end humanity. This enemy has no borders, it’s widespread and it locks people in forced and permanent confinement.
This enemy is tiny, but don't be fooled because it knows how to force all of humanity to its knees with its crafty infection. It can paralyze the body and the mind…
