A Divine Strategy for this Hour

By Trayce Bradford

2020 has been a peculiar year to say to the least.  On many occasions I have started a blog for our site but always have come to the same conclusion - there is a flood of words out in the internet sphere from every direction, what do I have to add?

Then God put on my heart a lesson that He continues to bring to mind, I have The Word, Jesus!  I have prayer, a direct line to the Courts of Heaven.

Praying for our nation started for me as a very young girl. I had many family members who served our nation, their neighbors and each other.  In many instances this service came at a sacrifice but that did not matter, as their hearts were set on faithfulness and duty.

There is a legacy of prayer for love of God, love of family and love of country – and of those three categories only one is perfect and eternal – as the other two have offered much, but sometimes fall short.

As life becomes increasingly unpredictable the core of life for a Christian has not.  If it has, then a change of our perspective is needed. God is not, has not, and will not ever change.  His Words are eternal and powerful as a two-edged sword and we belong to Him. God in His perfect wisdom has seen fit to have placed us in this specific time not as a punishment but honestly as a privilege! To be here at this time to share the hope that lies within us, the hope of Jesus Christ is what will save us.

If you are worried, frustrated or even angry, seek His face, ask Him to give you the strategy you need to serve in this particular season.

Pray for those that persecute you – some may be dear friends; some may be family or mentors – pray blessings over them. When we do this God gets the glory as we step aside from wasted time in energy battling a distraction.

When we are willing to pray and bless our enemies it shifts our hearts and thoughts, and God’s love is poured out through us.  This does not “okay” what has happened, but it helps us to love like Jesus and still be able to go after whatever issue or problem we are facing.

Praying to bless your “enemies” that they would see the love of God and His will for them is a way to stop allowing that person any space in one’s head and shifts our attitude.

Words have not been wasted when we take our fears, anger, questions etc. before the throne of God.  When we choose in these days to seek His face and not the face of “man” to be the answer, His clarity, peace, mercy and love rise to the top and we can allow Him to lead, not our circumstances

Thank you, God, for the gift of prayer.
